What is pink noise?
Pink noise has approximately equal power per octave. Its power density decreases as frequency increases, rather than staying flat like white noise. In this player it is a prepared sound file, not a field recording.
Compare the texture before choosing
Press Play with Pink selected. Change to White, then Brown, using the same speakers and comfortable volume. Each color changes the frequency balance; it does not change the timer or add another noise source.
The measured comparison guide below shows the spectra of our actual files. A darker curve or sound is not evidence that one color will work better for you.
Make pink noise part of a mix
Pink can be a background on its own or a quiet layer underneath a natural recording. Open the mixer, keep Pink selected and add Rain or Ocean. Start with the natural sound, then raise Noise only until you notice what it adds.
Use “Add more sounds in the mixer” to carry your current settings into the full mixer. It opens paused, and your previous full mixer setup stays saved separately until you edit the new combination.

Recordings & sources
The player repeats the short audio files below for as long as your session runs. The loop length is the length of each file, not a limit on listening time. Events within a recording may repeat.
| Sound | Loop | Source |
|---|---|---|
| White noise | 10 s Mono | Generated by AmbientBlend Original synthetic noise |
| Pink noise | 10 s Mono | Generated by AmbientBlend Original synthetic noise |
| Brown noise | 10 s Mono | Generated by AmbientBlend Original synthetic noise |
Start at a comfortable level. The volume percentages describe player settings; they do not measure the sound level at your ears. Playback with a locked screen or a background tab depends on your device and browser. Opening another page stops playback.

Common questions
Is pink noise the same as rain?
No. Pink describes a generated noise spectrum. Rain is a recording with changing drops and other events. A rain recording may sound noise-like, but it is not the same file or process.
Can I switch from pink to brown while listening?
Yes. Only one noise color plays at a time. If a new file cannot load, the existing sound is kept and the player offers a retry.
Does pink noise improve memory?
This page makes no such promise. This is an ordinary repeating listening file, not a controlled research intervention. Use the sound because you like its texture, not as a guaranteed cognitive benefit.
