Two layers, one balance you control
Rain and fireplace uses the existing Rain and Fireplace files. The rain is a prepared 30-second excerpt and the fire is 20 seconds. Because their source lengths differ, their recurring events do not always meet at the same moment.
This is an assembled soundscape, not a claim that a microphone captured one room during a storm. Each recording has its own source and author credit below.
Build the balance from one sound
Set Fireplace to zero and find a Rain level you like. Bring Fireplace up gradually until the crackling sits where you want it. Reverse the process if you prefer the fire to lead.
Master Volume changes both together. Their own sliders change the relationship. Setting a layer to zero mutes it without making you leave this page or start a new session.
From a fireside break to your own scene
For a short break, keep this simple two-layer setup and set a timer. If you want another texture, open the mixer with the current balance and add Wind or Night.
You can name and save the combination in the full mixer. The settings transfer paused; a timer belongs to the current listening session and does not carry to the next page.

Recordings & sources
The player repeats the short audio files below for as long as your session runs. The loop length is the length of each file, not a limit on listening time. Events within a recording may repeat.
| Sound | Loop | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Rain | 30 s Mono | Joseph SARDIN Field recording · CC0 |
| Fireplace | 20 s Mono | Joseph SARDIN Field recording · CC0 |
Start at a comfortable level. The volume percentages describe player settings; they do not measure the sound level at your ears. Playback with a locked screen or a background tab depends on your device and browser. Opening another page stops playback.
Common questions
Can I make the rain quieter than the fire?
Yes. Rain and Fireplace have independent sliders. Overall Volume changes both; the layer sliders set which sound is more prominent.
Can I play just one of the two?
Set the other layer to zero, or visit the dedicated Rain or Fireplace page. Zero mutes a layer while keeping the combination available to adjust.
Do the rain and fire loops restart together?
They are separate prepared files with different durations. Each repeats on its own schedule while the shared session runs.
