The water you are hearing
This page plays a 30-second excerpt of “Small Stream #4” by Joseph SARDIN. It captures a small mountain stream, with flowing water recorded from above the surface.
The current water texture is not a waterfall, a white-water rapids recording or ocean waves. Those scenes would need different source recordings.
Running water compared with waves
Waves rise and recede at a shoreline. A stream records flowing water at one place. Compare the two with the links below if one rhythm feels more noticeable than you want.
Forest stream adds an independently recorded Forest layer. The two sliders let you keep the water forward and the woodland detail quiet; it is a mix, not a recording of that exact combined location.
Use water as one layer
Try Stream alone first. If you want a night scene, open the mixer and add Night at a lower level, or use Night stream on the night page. If you prefer one texture, leave the water on its own.
The short excerpt repeats and the timer can end the session. The volume and mix controls change balance, not water speed or the recorded environment.

Recordings & sources
The player repeats the short audio files below for as long as your session runs. The loop length is the length of each file, not a limit on listening time. Events within a recording may repeat.
| Sound | Loop | Source |
|---|---|---|

| Stream | 30 s Stereo | Joseph SARDIN Field recording · CC0 |
Start at a comfortable level. The volume percentages describe player settings; they do not measure the sound level at your ears. Playback with a locked screen or a background tab depends on your device and browser. Opening another page stops playback.
Common questions
Is this a river or a stream recording?
The recording is of a small mountain stream. It offers the texture of flowing water rather than the roar of a large river. The source notes below identify the exact recording.
Can I hear forest sounds alongside the water?
Yes. Forest stream adds a separately credited forest excerpt with its own level slider. Stream alone uses only the water recording.
Is the underwater sound the same water file?
No. Underwater uses a separate hydrophone recording of a waterfall. This page uses a surface recording of a small stream.
