Wind is not one fixed noise color
This is a recorded wind excerpt, not white or pink noise renamed as weather. Its tone and movement come from the recording. The prepared 20-second clip repeats while the player runs.
Choose wind alone or rain and wind
Wind alone lets you hear the source without another layer. Rain and wind combines two separately recorded files. Adjust the layer sliders if you want more rain with only a little wind underneath.
Do not use Volume to solve a balance problem: it makes both layers louder or quieter together. Start with the overall level you want, then adjust the Wind layer within it.
A useful comparison for longer listening
If changes in the wind keep attracting attention, compare Rain or Brown noise. If the variation is what you like, try wind at a low level with a fireplace in the full mixer.
Wind varies within the recording. Listen to the example before choosing it for a long session; the source notes below identify the recording you are hearing.

Recordings & sources
The player repeats the short audio files below for as long as your session runs. The loop length is the length of each file, not a limit on listening time. Events within a recording may repeat.
| Sound | Loop | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Rain | 30 s Mono | Joseph SARDIN Field recording · CC0 |
| Wind | 20 s Mono | Joseph SARDIN Field recording · CC0 |
Start at a comfortable level. The volume percentages describe player settings; they do not measure the sound level at your ears. Playback with a locked screen or a background tab depends on your device and browser. Opening another page stops playback.
Common questions
Can I mix wind and rain here?
Yes. Select Rain and wind and use the separate Rain and Wind sliders. Setting one layer to zero leaves only the other audible.
Is the wind sound always the same?
The excerpt contains changes, but the prepared clip repeats. This is not a continuously changing live weather feed.
Can I use wind sounds with a sleep timer?
Yes. The timer starts with playback and fades out the session when it ends. Background playback can still be interrupted by your browser or device.
